What’s hot in beauty trends in 2022? With many of us emerging from what feels like a never-ending lockdown, combined with a new taste of freedom and the need to channel the motivation, COVID has truly redefined the beauty landscape and a newfound approach to beauty, and what’s to come in 2022.
Expect to see fluffy brows to 90’s brows, nude nail tones to bold nail art, quick fix fat freezing sessions to a rise in home beauty ‘tweakments’. It’s all happening, and there is something for everyone. So, what does it mean for your beauty menu?
We have collated the top trends below to help you freshen up your 2022 beauty menu with services your client’s will want.
Nail Trends in 2022
When it comes to fashion and colour, we have the Pantone Institute setting the path. Aside from the annual colour of the year announcement, 2022 brings with it a contrasting choice in the fashion colour palette, seeing 10 bold colours and 5 core classic colours. The idea this coming year is to celebrate personalised expression. It is about joining the sentiments of simplicity and comfort, with spontaneous inspiration, and our desire to break boundaries and combat the notion of new in this uncertain time.
Why does it matter to us beauty babes? Because fashion trends always dictate what’s to come. So, get your colours at the ready, from tip to toe! Check out the top predicted colours & how Morgan Taylor and Gelish will be supporting you with their amazing colour range!
Fashion Scoop: Our friends at Morgan Taylor have played an active role on the catwalk with nail fashion in 2022. They made a special appearance with animal print designs, classic nudes, bold colours and shimmery tones at the Rodarte New York Fashion Show, as well as a mention in Harper’s Bazaar inside scoop on nail fashion trends for Spring 2022.
Brow Trends in 2022
With COVID now part of our daily norm, we need to look at considering our add-on products as part of the overall service
For the love of the brow therapist, the amount of brow trends on fleek at any one time, is sure to keep you off your feet! Spring 2022 sees 9 brow trends defining multiple looks.
Note: Probably a great idea to remind your clients of the different after care needs and anything to be aware of if they are going to chop and change between brow styles.
So, let’s get right into it. The brow styles looking to stick around from previous year’s include:
#1 Brow Lamination
#2 Brow Lightening
#3 The Fluffy Brow
Here’s What’s New in Brows
- #1 The 90’s Brow – A more finessed version of course!
- #2 The Straight Brow
- #3 The Hybrid Brow
- #4 The Natural Brow
- #5 Brow Layout – Freehand brow work!
Other bolder brow styles include: The Coloured Brow and The Gemstone Brow
Body Trends
- Whilst many started out with good intentions on getting fit and healthy, by the time we got to the last lockdown in 2022, it’s safe to say the motivation was pretty much non-existent.
And so, the demand for non-invasive treatments is on the rise. Offering fast and almost pain free results, did we mention lower costs, our clients can feel confident without the wait. These include: CoolScuplting (Fat Freezing), Collagen-based facials or Growth Factor Therapy, and Ultherapy.
What’s New in Lashes?
We love lashes. In fact, we can’t get enough of them and neither can the beauty world. Lashes have become THE biggest beauty trend of continuous growth. From natural-looking lashes to lash exaggerated lashes, and even a blast from the past Twiggy style!
Yes! Double lashes are certainly back from the past and featuring on this year’s runway. Yet still conquering the lash game, is first and foremost full and long lashes, Cara Delevingne style! On the other hand, supporting the natural brow, natural nails and well… natural vibe, are natural yet full lashes. Yet nothing a little lash lift or a high-quality lash growth serum can’t fix!
Home Care ‘Tweakments’
We mentioned at home ‘tweakments’ earlier. This is certainly a result of COVID with our client’s having no choice yet to perform their own maintenance and upkeep across many beauty treatments. Yet, there is no need to convince your client they need to be done with this. This is a perfect opportunity to offer control back with mainstream beauty treatments and look into making your upsell and retail opportunities work for you. Remember, we are not quiet out of ‘this’ yet. So, take this opportunity to guide and educate your client as you perform the treatment, and emphasise care tips on how they can help maintain optimal upkeep. Then, if we ever need to jump back online sales, half the work is already done for you!
Easy to do ‘tweakments’ can include brow and lash care, brow and lash enhancements such as pomade and magnetic lashes and so much more! If you are looking to expand your retail range and support the ‘tweakment’ trend in between services, then you must explore our retail range.
