We talk Brazilian Wax with Lilliane Caron
Who better to sit and talk Brazilian waxing with, other than the queen of waxing herself, Lilliane Caron? After all, it is peak season! Explore our Q&A with Lilliane Caron of Caronlab.
Question #1:
An effective Brazilian not only depends on the technique of the wax therapist, yet on the client. How can we as therapists, best encourage our clients to help enhance the treatment results?
Always remind your clients that home aftercare is just as important as the salon service itself.
Ensuring your clients are exfoliating and using the appropriate products will ensure they get better, longer lasting results.
It not only helps them save money in the long run by spreading their appointments apart but the treatment will become less and less painful.
Question #2:
What are the essential go-to tools to help maximise the perfect Brazilian?
- High quality hypoallergenic Wax
- Pre & Post Care
- Quick Dry Mist
- Pre Skin Cleanser
- Micro Defence Foam
- After Waxing Oil
- After Waxing Soothing lotion
- Waxing Strips
- Spatulas
- Cotton Rounds
- Nitrile Gloves
- Grip Tweezers
- Corn Starch*
*We do not recommend using baby powder as it is a carcinogenic product.
Question #3:
Any tips on Brazilian techniques when it comes to different hair types?
The Lilliane Caron Technique caters for all hair types.
Using a high premium wax at the correct temperature and consistency will ensure smooth results.
Question #4:
Let’s talk wax positioning. When it comes to the ‘back’ which position is better, if at all? A) Flip to the right side or B) Knees up to the chest?
We always have our clients lay on their stomach, unless they are pregnant or cannot lie flat on their stomach, we would alternatively lay them on their side facing away from you.
Question #5:
What are your thoughts around where to begin the treatment. Bottom base, top or sides?
We always start at the top of the Brazilian as we complete majority of this service with our clients legs close.
We are able to ‘comb’ & ‘detangle’ the entire section allowing a clean path for the side.
This allows a better swing, and air to circulate in the room.
• Technique and flowing movements used make the client feel more relaxed, similar to a spa environment.
Question #6:
For those who haven’t heard of Caronlab’s Braziliant Film Bead Wax by now, can you please share with our reader’s why it’s the go-to wax for a Brazilian treatment?
It has the power of both strip and hard wax in the one wax!
Grips onto the hair like strip wax, but is extremely gentle on the skin.
Really good for those therapists that would prefer having an all-over body wax suitable for both face and intimate areas.
Question #7:
Barneys Salon Supplies have been supplying wax therapists with Caronlab for many years. We love the brand and everything it stands for. Do you think we could treat our customers with a freshen up class at Barneys HQ?
It’s always a great idea to freshen up your skills! Yes indeed we can. All I can say is stay tuned for some waxing course dates with us at Barneys!
